Leaving Bangkok on a windy and cloudy morning, I switched back from drinking ice coffee to hot coffee once again. Luckily the wind was coming from exactly the right direction, almost blowing me out of Bangkok without much work required on my part.
Another nice milestone was passed just outside the capital. Luckily there is still around 1000 km to cover in Thailand. I don’t feel like leaving this place just yet.
The tailwind and milestone celebrations didn’t last forever. A few moments later I had a flat tire.
Actually I have been amazed by how long my tires are lasting. I put on this set of tires around Christmas when I was in Egypt. During the 4000 km I have cycled since then, I only had one flat! And this cycling through Egypt, India and Thailand. I changed to my spare tire and soon I was enjoying the tailwind again.
Based on the fact that every car parked in front of my motel is hidden behind a curtain, the selection of TV channels and big mirrors around the bed, my place to sleep for the night would probably fall in the category “Love Hotel”. The room being cheap, clean and thankfully quiet during the night, wasn’t actually that bad.
Congrats on the 8000 km! Food looks delicious.
