I’m being taken good care of by Andy and Debbie in their nice home in the outskirts of Saint John. With such good people around, it feels good to be in Canada. If only I get to Newfoundland before the snow, I don’t see how this will not be one heck of a ride, eh? 🙂
After breakfast we drove into Saint John to do some errands. Being in a new country, there are always some practical things to do – like changing money and getting a new sim card. It turns out that phone services are expensive in Canada. Otherwise things like food are generally a bit cheaper compared to the US – mostly because the Canadian dollar is quite low compared to the USD at the moment. Good thing for a traveller…
Andy had arranged a dinner with a number of the local radio guys. A super friendly bunch of people who were all welcoming me to their country. I got plenty of ideas of things to see and things to do on the way to Newfoundland, and even some contacts to people on the way.
Tomorrow I will be heading north again. I’m excited about what the country roads of Eastern Canada will bring.
Here we go! Canadian bike trip!
