I had considered to ride all the 140 km to Bangkok today, but after 70 km in almost unbearable heat I had enough. Already before I reached Ayutthaya I had used a whole daily budget on ice coffees and ice teas along the highway. After a short break in an air conditioned room, stepping outside felt like hitting a wall of heat.
The friendly guys at the hostel I’m staying invited me to join them for dinner for free. They explained that usually the hostel would be full of international volunteers working in schools in the area. Now the place was empty because it is summer break in Thailand. It sounded like a great place to be volunteering.
