On a Sunday such as today the Arabic weekend has ended, and I could go to the Indian embassy to apply for my visa. To my surprise the lady behind the counter told me to come back already tomorrow to pick up the passport. I thought it would take at least four days.
Later I went for a walk from the more modern down town into the old Islamic part of Cairo. That half hour walk is really a journey through centuries which I find truly fascinating.
